Kuwait Insurance Company recycles plastic waste with Omniya
Kuwait Insurance Company (KIC) has adopted a policy of supporting activities and initiatives aimed at improving the environment for several years, and has implemented numerous initiatives with this goal in mind. In this context, a cooperation agreement was signed with Amnia to collect and recycle plastic materials. This collaboration reflects KIC's commitment to its social responsibility and its efforts to protect the environment. The agreement was signed in the presence of KIC CEO Sami Sharif and Amnia CEO Sanaa Al-Ghamlas, along with several representatives from both companies. This collaboration represents a strategic partnership through which KIC is keen to contribute to a clean and sustainable environment by reducing waste, reusing materials, and improving the quality of life for future generations.
In this context, Fajr Al-Sayegh, Director of Communications at Kuwait Insurance Company, expressed her delight at this fruitful collaboration with Umniah. She added, "This partnership stems from the company's commitment to environmental protection and encouraging community participation in recycling, as we recognize that poor waste management harms human health and the local environment. This partnership is part of our efforts to implement our strategy based on supporting environmentally friendly initiatives for sustainable development and Kuwait's vision."
Al-Sayegh said: The company has placed special containers for collecting plastic and recyclable materials throughout the company premises. The containers are collected by a security company for recycling at designated times instead of being thrown into landfills, in order to reduce the negative impact on the environment and to encourage employees to participate in environmentally friendly behaviors.
On another front, Omniya held a seminar for its employees on the importance of recycling plastic materials and how to complete the sorting and recycling process, in addition to explaining the advantages of accumulating points through the application. Omniya's first-of-its-kind application in Kuwait was also activated, enabling the collection and sorting of plastic materials in containers to facilitate the recycling process and make it more efficient.
