Environment Public Authority Signs MoU with Omniya to Promote Green Buildings and Facilities

In a new step toward supporting national efforts to protect the environment and enhance sustainability practices, the Environment Public Authority (EPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Omniya for Green Building and Eco-Friendly Facility Applications.

Ms. Nouf Al-Behbehani, Acting Director General of the Environment Public Authority, received Ms. Farah Abdulmejeed Shaaban, Chief Operating Officer of Omniya, for the signing ceremony, which was attended by representatives from both sides.

During the meeting, Ms. Al-Behbehani emphasized that signing this memorandum falls within the Authority's commitment to supporting pioneering environmental initiatives that contribute to spreading community awareness and establishing sound practices for natural resource conservation. She noted that the collaboration with Omniya reflects the vital role of public-private partnerships in achieving sustainable development goals.

On her part, Ms. Shaaban expressed her pride in this cooperation, noting that Omniya was among the first initiators in the field of plastic bottle collection in Kuwait. This contribution has helped strengthen the concept of a circular economy and encouraged community participation through volunteer work.

The Memorandum of Understanding focuses on several key areas of cooperation, most notably:

Launching environmental awareness programs targeting various segments of society.

Implementing eco-friendly practices within institutions and facilities.

Spreading a culture of plastic waste recycling and mitigating its risks.

Enhancing circular economy mechanisms through joint initiatives and practical projects.

This collaboration aligns with Kuwait's environmental vision and the shared commitment of both parties to contribute to national efforts aimed at protecting the environment and maintaining the sustainability of natural resources, in accordance with sustainable development goals.
